12 Feb Network Next Steps: Norfolk
Norfolk formed its own fiber optics committee in 2018, whose members include the first selectman and head of the town’s Economic Development Commission. A gathering of supporters was held in September 2019 (about 50 people attending), and a community campaign has been launched, including monthly inserts in Norfolk Now.
With the muni-gain law restored (see last newsletter and our web site in Arguments under In Depth), Norfolk is now working to obtain community support for a fiber optic network that covers the entire town. The group expects a town vote at the municipal election of 2020. Stay tuned.
